The start of the team’s final week aboard the Langseth

The team had to recover the guns and streamers for a brief detour to Jacksonville, but the equipment was soon redeployed and ship operations were back to normal. The final stretches of data are now being collected, and we are hopeful that the end result provides a detailed picture of the margins of the Blake Plateau and the Carolina Trough.

Photos and updates from Susie and Anastasiia.

Reeling in the yellow float that is used to keep the streamer from diving too deep over the course of its deployment.

The team participates in a fire drill now post-streamer redeployment.

Nathan’s turn to operate the fire hose.

The science team has been meeting every few days to go over the seismic data, and this shot is of the meeting regarding processing and interpretation of line 1003.
